What's My
Face Shape?

Use this handy guide to shop for
glasses for your face shape.

  • Heart Face Shape

    Glasses for Heart Shaped Faces.

Your face is widest at the forehead which gradually narrows to your jawline. Your glasses shouldn’t imitate the shape of your face. Stick to smaller rectangular, square and aviator glasses.

  • Square Face Shape

    Glasses for Square Faces.

Like the rounded shape, your face is proportional in length and width. But what sets you apart are your angles, like a broad forehead and squared jawline. Soften your angles with round, oval and slightly curved glasses.

  • Round Face Shape

    Glasses for Round Faces.

The width of your forehead, cheeks and jaw are nearly the same. You have soft features with a less angular, more rounded shape. Rectangular glasses will slim and lengthen the look of your face.

  • Oval Face Shape

    Glasses for Oval Faces.

Your face is longer than the width of your cheek bones. Your features are balanced with a forehead that’s slightly wider than your chin, and a rounded jawline. But all you really need to know is you’ll look good in nearly any frame you choose. Lucky you!

How to Shop for
Glasses
that Fit
Your Prescription

Do you need progressive lenses or have
a high prescription? We’ve got you.

Glasses for Progressive Lenses

If you have progressive lenses, you’ll need glasses tall enough to accommodate them.
Since you’ll effectively have two prescriptions in one lens, look for glasses with a lens
height of 30 mm or larger and avoid skinny frames and smaller shapes.

Glasses for High
Prescription Lenses

When it comes to frames for a high prescription, there are a few things you want to consider. Because your lens will be thicker, choose an acetate frame over rimless or semi-rimless frames.

Shape can also make a huge difference in the thickness of your lenses, so we recommend small, round frames. To ensure the thinnest lenses possible, you can also choose a high index lens, which is great for strong prescriptions.

My Prescription

You’ll need a current RX to buy prescription eyewear or contacts on Eyeconic.

The best way is to check with your doctor's office before placing your order. Check out our example of a valid prescription. Your current prescription should include:

  • Patient Name
  • Valid Expiration Date
  • Prescribing Doctor
  • Prescription Information

If we receive an image of the prescription, we’re able to verify it based on the submission of a valid prescription form.

Note: An eye exam is recommended every year. As a rule, you shouldn’t go longer than two years between eye exams. You may need to have your eyes examined more often if you have a family history of eye diseases, diabetes, if you have generally poor health, or you’re taking medications that may have potential side effects on the eyes

Don’t fret – we partner with a network of 34,000 doctors. Use our Find A Doctor tool to find a doctor near you to receive a comprehensive eye exam and to update your prescription.

You’ll provide your prescription during the checkout process. You’ll have the option to upload an image of your current prescription.
